Skyline Air Conditioning has a wealth of experience installing air conditioning systems whatever the size or complexity.
Fort Dunlop is one of the most recognisable buildings in the country. The combination of its size, history and close proximity to the M6 has made it an iconic landmark.
Fort Dunlop unfortunately was an icon that had remained dormant for over 20 years since the closure of tyre town. That was the situation until late in 2004 when Urban Splash began transforming Fort Dunlop into a high quality mixed use scheme that introduced new exciting contemporary architecture without compromising the existing features and beauty of a unique structure. Urban Splash have delivered 345.000 square feet of imaginative office, retail/leisure space and incorporated a one hundred bedroom Travelodge Hotel. The hotel adds a new contemporary edge to the building’s design and cleverly converts itself into the buildings central core as it enters the Fort.
Skyline Air Conditioning have been engaged in the complete air conditioning installation to all the floors using Mitsubishi water cooled VRF systems providing controls and remote zone controllers for each floor.
The client’s brief was is to incorporate a raised floor in the building and use the void below as a pathway for concealing air conditioning systems distribution, electrical power, data networks, telecommunications and control cables. The end result keeping the internal space clean, clear and unfettered allowing the architectural integrity to remain uncompromised. The design and installation was project managed by Skyline’s Midlands office based in Walsall. Skyline’s ability to deliver complete working systems within strict programmes was a key factor in the Fort Dunlop project.
